Trustee role

The Women's Sports Foundation (WSF) is a charity and a company limited by guarantee. It is governed by a Board of Trustees who are also company directors. The charity trustees have legal and financial responsibility for the organisation, and they ensure that it is managed and administered in a way that safeguards its charitable purposes.

The main responsibilities of the Board of Trustees are:

  • to maintain a long-term overview of WSF and its work
  • to make strategic and major decisions about objectives, policies and procedures
  • to ensure that there are adequate resources for WSF to carry out its activities
  • to monitor progress towards objectives and other work
  • to take legal responsibility for WSF and all its actions.

There are currently five trustees and two co-optees:
